to Lead USA in Saturday Morning's Curtis Cup Action

- Four of the teenagers representing the United
States of America at the 2004 Curtis
Cup Match will see action during Saturday morning's foursomes matches
against the Great Britain
and Ireland
squad.
Seventeen-year-old
Californians Paula Creamer (Pleasanton) and Jane Park (Beaumont) will
team up against Shelley McKevitt and Emma Duggelby of England in the
morning's first match.
In the second match, Sarah Huarte, 22, of Shingle Springs, Calif., and
Annie Thurman, 21, of Highland, Utah, will face England 's Nicola Timmins
and Danielle Masters.
In the morning's final foursomes match, Brittany Lang, 18, of McKinney,
Texas will pair with 14-year-old Michelle Wie of Honolulu, Hawaii against
Anne Laing of Scotland and Claire Coughlan of Ireland.
The
Curtis Cup Match is played every other year between two eight-woman
amateur teams, one from the United
States of America and the other
from Great Britain
and Ireland.
A team needs 9 points to retain the Cup, 9½ points to win
it outright. There are 18 matches over the weekend: six foursomes matches
and 12 singles matches.
The
pairings for Saturday afternoon's six singles matches must be finalized
no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of singles play.
