| The United States rallied to sweep
five of the six singles matches and won by 6½ to 2½ over the
British Isles in the first Curtis Cup Match held in the United
States. The Match was played September 27 and 28 at the Chevy
Chase Club, Chevy Chase, Md. Both teams scored 1½ points in
the foursomes, played in a severe rainstorm. The lone singles
victory for the British Isles came when Mrs. J.B. Walker defeated
Mrs. Frank Goldthwaite, 3 and 2. |
